10/5/2018 Updates Critical Updates Locally created Windows replay files should now work on the site without having to convert them. Play by hand mode should no longer randomly time out. Players should have the intended 30 min per turn. Note in hand vs hand mode you have 30 min to submit both player’s turns. Update 10/9/2018

Critical Updates: Starter-algo folder is now called starter-algo-ZIPME to help new users identify which folder to zip when uploading. Starterkit now comes with a run_match.py script that is a bit easier to use than the previous scripts. Details are in the readme.md in starterkit. Fixes for windows local play. Terminal Update 11/2/18

Features New button to download a replay after a playground game Added buttons to skip the frame to the start of the next/previous turn to the playground Added location in user page to upload a resume. Matchmaking updates

Matchmaking Algos should now get 6 ‘first’ matches very consistantly, up from 2-4 Time interval between matches should be more consistent Algos will no longer play ranked matches when below 500 Elo. This threshhold may change in the future. Quality of matches should be significantly increased, your partner should be closer to your Elo more consistently. I uploaded my boss that came in 2nd place in the C1Ryan competition onto the playground. Have fun beating it! I look forward to my algo suddenly losing its place in the top 10. Also we cleaned up the boss names and removed the LX_ prefix as it seemed redundant.

Updates 1/15/19

Playground Updates Big Performance Update: Playground has been thoroughly refactored making it run multiple times more efficiently. Previously, 4x and 8x speeds required frame skipping to run (which skipped over animations and effects). Now 4x speed no longer requires frame skipping and 8x speed only skips 1 frame instead of 3. Just a quick update, you can now play your crashing algos on playground to view their error logs. There were many backend changes as well but they do not affect users.

Small Update: Local testing

A script has been added to the Starterkit designed to help you quickly test your algo before uploading it to the site. You can pull the most recent starterkit and check top level README or the documentation in scripts to see how it works. The general concept is that it will feed your algo a few gamestates fed in from a replay file and make sure your algo doesn’t crash on a random turn.
