I just found out, that the unit explosion animation does not trigger, when the “target” of the information unit is reached, but if an unit reaches the opponent’s edge in any place. I’ve found this in one of my algos matches in various rounds.

You can see what i mean very clearly in round 13 from frame 676 - 682.
The enemys PINGs clearly reached my edge, but still travel to their target, but as they reach my edge, the explosion animation is triggered. You can see it 2 times in sum in the frames given.

I’ve noticed this too, but more specifically, the “dealt damage” explosion animation triggers whenever a unit is destroyed while it is on an opponent’s edge, regardless of whether it dealt damage or not. This also happens when a unit reaches the edge it is targeting, but gets destroyed before it can deal damage, which can be quite confusing.
This is a known issue with frontend, but things tend to get fixed faster after players notice and mention them. Its not in my hands but expect a fix within a week or two. Sorry about the confusion.
This also happens when units self destruct on an edge. See round 13 of https://terminal.c1games.com/watch/859792, the unit self destructs but the breach animation plays instead.
